The carbon challenge fund was created by the North West Regional Development Agency to promote the use of environmental technologies. The project aims to help the North West Region to adapt and mitigate against the impacts of climate change.
The Carbon Challenge Fund supports the deployment of low carbon technologies by minimising the risk of investing in these technologies by demonstrating and monitoring their effectiveness, providing an incentive for adoption and demonstrating leadership.
The types of technologies that can be funded are:
- Energy efficiency
- Renewable (including small scale) and low carbon energy generation and distribution for heat, power and cooling
- Low carbon design and construction techniques
- Low carbon transport technologies and processes
- Climate change adaptation
The Fund is being managed by Envirolink North West.
Any Business within North West England can apply for this funding.
